Description
Rustam is the most famous mythical figure in Shahnameh and, consequently, the most important mythical figure in Persian literature. He is the son of Zal and Rudabeh and is the grandson of Garshasp and reaches Jamshid through Garshasp; His maternal lineage goes back to Mehrab Kabuli and Dragon. He had a horse named Rakhsh who was his friend and helper in all battles. Rustam and his horse, Rakhsh, were eventually killed by the conspiracy of Sheghad, Rustam's half-brother.Category
