Description
In 1967 GM was going to name the Corvette “King of the Road” However, Shelby famously got there first and at the 1967 NY Auto Show named his GT500 the KR. It sports a now legendary 428ci Cobra Jet engine with stated 335HP. It actually has over 400 HP. It was to become the Ford flagship performance car and had an innovative fiberglass hood with twin air scoops and louvered cooling vents. Offered in both fastback and convertible, only 517 convertibles were built. Total built 1570.Category
